finally

hello ladies. this is my first ever participation in a blog. ann, i have terrible news for you but didn't have the heart to tell you in person/over the phone. couldn't bear to hear the sadness in your voice. the bay view arts society repainted the garbage cans here and they are horrible! they are florescent with words such as "zippy! cool! awesome!" on one hand, i can appreciate how completely awful they are and the similarity to "pow, bam, oof" of the batman days. . . but still... it brings tears to my eyes every time i drive down kk.

sorry i have kept this from you for about a month. just didn't know how to break the news, and now the blog gave me the opportunity.

South Dakota

Ok so tomorrow I fly to South Dakota to work for Planned Parenthood over the weekend. This is the FIRST time I have ever flown by myself and I am really nervous. What if I can't navigate O'Hare to find my connecting flight that leaves only 35 minutes after my first flight lands? What if I crash and die? Please wait at least 6 months to induct someone new to Best Fest. Any sooner would just be tacky. What if I get there and I am with a bunch of fugly, bad style, crazy, South Dakota activists? I already got an email saying that they want me to wear a Planned Parenthood shirt out on a pub crawl on Saturday night. My one opportunity for booze and flirting and I have to wear a hot pink, ill-fitting t-shirt that advertises that if you get me pregnant I will abort it. Great!

So that is my rant on my weekend. Eeekk!

i gotta bust through a million data entry things, BUT wanted to let y'all know that i'm in the clear all week for bestie fest!

also, i have an outfit to post later, but it's kinda contingent on if my dinner date happens. the boy has been sickyface for the last two days, but purportedly was downin' meds/resting up because he's "really looking forward to it." i'm assuming "it" doesn't mean "punch to the kidneys," so he best(ie) get better.

Emma Goldman!

I worked FOREVER on this Emma Goldman portrait for Beth Pickens and finally finished it on Sunday night. I will send it to her tomorrow so that it can finally be out of my life.....It did turn out pretty cool though.

Beth says "Hi!" to all of you, by the way ( She even remebers Bridgette from the March!). I told her about Bestie Fest and she was so excited!
